I wrote this 5 days from today with the title:

A Letter To Heaven

And it's about the last time i saw my grandma alive and after what happened after.

Here it goes:

January 1st was the last time i saw you

January 1st was the last time i heard you say my name

I remember that day like it was yesterday

Salomi was the only one in that room

And it was late and we were ready to go home

So i came in to tell Salomi we had to go

That was the 1st time in those 2 weeks that i saw you really awake

it was like you couldnt sleep no more and just wanted to be awake for awhile

and i remember me and Salomi didn't wanted to say goodbye just yet

But we had a long way back home so it was time

eventhough I knew troughout the 2 weeks i was visiting you

that your time was gonna come

I knew in my heart that this was defenitely the last time I would see you

2 days later I was at a friends house watching a movie when I received a phonecall from moms saying you just went home to heaven

And i was ready to take the hit because i already prepared myself for this moment

Benny and Salomi picked me up and as we were heading towards Groningen i was quiet the whole time

thinking and thinking and thinking

about how you raised 12 children

how you took care of 8 grandchildren

and how you were blessed to have 4 great grandchildren

And all the memories i have of you and your house

About how i spend my childhood under your care

As I am thinking now the things you must have gone through those 80 years

Growing up in our homecountry

Experiencing the war and how you had to leave your home

And everything else you had to go through here in The Netherlands

Losing your youngest child and later on losing a husband

I see why you couldnt wait to see them again

So All I wanna say is GRANDMA I miss YOU!!
